Summer 2023 CO-OP

Working at Clearcreek Woodworking I learned a lot about the manufacturing of cabinetry. I worked as a carpenter in the woodshop constructing cabinets and prepping them to be finished in the spray booth. I learned how to use a wide variety of tools and improved upon my existing skills. The tool I used the most was a table saw to make a wide variety of cuts. I had the privilege of working with skilled woodworkers who could show me the tricks of the trade.

In my last week at Clearcreek, I had the opportunity to do a personal project. After asking around if anyone wanted some furniture. I found out my parents wanted a plant stand for their sunroom. My parents wanted something that could fit in the corner and match the color and wood of their end tables. The plant stand legs are made from white oak painted white to match the trim in the sunroom. The shelf of the plant stand is also white oak for its open grain and has then been pickled in a glaze to make the grain paper more gray.
